Honours Bachelor of Commerce - Digital Marketing
What brought you to Fanshawe?
Having lived in London my whole life and feeling the need to do some sort of post-secondary education after high school, necessity brought me to Fanshawe. However, what kept me at Fanshawe for 3 consecutive programs (the Business - Marketing diploma, the Business Administration - Marketing advanced diploma & the Honours Bachelor of Commerce - Digital Marketing degree) was the amazing staff, hands-on classwork and overall fantastic environment. It felt great to be surrounded by students and staff who truly cared.
Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.
My favourite Fanshawe experience was definitely the Community Consultancy course. Being able to collaborate with my classmates to work with live clients and solve real business problems was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Having businesses place their faith in students like us really made me and the team go all out, and the fact that they placed their faith in us proves what a great reputation Fanshawe has in the community. I truly feel like that course fully unlocked my potential.
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
Fanshawe has had a massive impact on my life. Not only have the skills I learned significantly helped me in the various jobs I've had since graduation, the connections that I was able to build with both students and professors helped me land jobs and give back to the community through working with current students and sitting on the Program Advisory Committee for the Digital Marketing Degree program. The taco salad at Outback Shack also had a big impact on my life and I still think about it often.
What are you up to now?
Currently I'm working at Canada Life as an Associate Marketing Specialist, a job I started back in February 2021. This role has really allowed me to utilize the vast array of skills I developed at Kinlin and work on a great team alongside many other Fanshawe grads. Prior to this, I've worked at places such as 3M, the Auburn Group of Companies and a local web design/marketing agency, tbk. In my spare time, I've been writing/recording music and amassing a large retro video game collection.
