What brought you to Fanshawe?

My interest in the communications field brought me to Fanshawe. I have always wanted to learn more and saw the opportunity to expand my knowledge. I knew that I could gain the skills and experience I wanted here. When it comes to acquiring hands-on learning experience, Fanshawe proves to be the best. The internship component of the Public Relations - Corporate Communications program led me to apply here. Many employers seek job applicants with experience and with this program I knew I could gain the experience I needed and apply to jobs with ease.

Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.

Completing my internship at King’s University College was one of my favourite Fanshawe experiences. During my internship, I’ve learned a lot about communication and myself as a future public relations practitioner. From event planning to crisis communications, King’s provided various opportunities for me to develop my skills and acquire new experiences. My first project included executing a communications plan for the Bell Let’s Talk Day event at King’s, which has won the Award of Merit issued by the IABC of London. I felt adequately prepared to be at my placement based on the course work in the first term.
