What brought you to Fanshawe?

Fanshawe was the school that spoke to me the most when the world was still heavily impacted by covid-19. I wanted to start something new away from everything I had always known. The school has this sense of belonging I instantly felt a connection with and bonus points is that it had a baking course!

Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.

My favourite experience would be the campus experience. There’s so many people from everywhere around the world that, we can encounter and just hearing a little about everyone’s story made this time of my life very special. I am myself from a very small island and making friends from all places of the world was what I needed to have another perspective about a lot of things.

What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?

Fanshawe has been the period where I shaped my personality and grew stronger. It is where I learned who and not who to trust. Where I was able to build and project myself and got confident with who I wanted to be. It was not just about attending classes and getting the grades, but also, about making the right choices and sacrifices. I got wiser and definitely bolder by the time I graduated. However, it was only the beginning of my growth.

What are you up to now?

After graduating I got an offer in a resort in Quebec as commis pâtissière. It was honestly a dream being able to get there. From learning how to do the service for a fine dining restaurant and organizing banquets for over 600 hundred guests. The workload was insane but the satisfaction was just amazing. After a year and a half I wanted to travel and landed a in France in a Michelin star restaurant as a chef de partie Pâtisserie. For now, this is where my life is at and I can’t be happier with the progress and experience I’ve made ever since.
